If you are looking for the largest bass in Arkansas, then the southern lakes Monticello and Millwood have a large stock of bass between five and ten pounds. These are angled regularly and consistently in these lakes. You will not find the same size and consistent hooking of this size of bass in any of the northern lakes.

These lakes are stocked regularly with Florida bass. These bass are very abundant in these lakes. You should keep in mind that there is a three bass limit per day on Lake Millwood. The smallest bass you can keep should be at least sixteen inches long.

When angling on Lake Millwood, stick to the areas where the natural creeks are located. The fish use these creeks to spawn. Lake Monticello is the other lake in the south that is known for plenty of large bass. This lake is stocked with over one hundred thousand bass each spring, when the lake is also fertilized. This lake also has plenty of lily pad beds where large bass can be found.

This is one of the smaller lakes in the south but it is famous for the size of the bass that is brought in. You will need to catch and release the bass you catch but you will still have some great photo ops with some really decent sized fish.
